Brussels Airport Company is the renowned
Belgian international airport. The Australian investment fund
Macquerie holds 70% of the shares since 2004. Partly due to
this investment and partly driven by their wish to improve
efficiency in a very competitive airport market, Brussels Airport
decided early 2007 to re-automate their services. A tender
for professional services was won by CARE Consulting - management
consultants from Hasselt Belgium.
The activities of Brussels Airport are very
diverse : rental parkings, rental shop floors, rental advertising
space, landing rights, flueling services, check-in desks and more.
The processes are both complex and unique and needed integration
and automation. CARE Consulting's study has been instrumental in
the make-or-buy decision. All company processes were described in
a blueprint, after which re-engineering consults took place. A
request for proposal of the Brussels Airport processes
enabled an objective selection of the best fitting software. The
selection of software solution and implementor were approved by
the Board of Directors in August 2007. The professional
services of CARE Consulting position Brussels Airport in a perfect
situation with budget security, contractual assurance and more
efficient company processes.
